the day when we're old...

i woke up today feeling much better from the bruising and battering from friday's game..

well at least now i can walk without a limp.

i guess i should be fully recovered by tuesday's training..

didnt realli have a good sleep ytd, for which the reason i shall not discuss..

but as i kept drifting in and out of sleep, i was thinking bout the day when we're (as in, the ruggers) are all old and frail..

will our body suffer the repercussions of these knocks and bruises we sustain at this early stage in our lives??

i remember hearing faizal say to blackburn last year bout how he is fit enough to play 2 matches at one go, but it is the days after these 2 matches that will hurt because of the longer recovery time as he is getting old..

and mind you, faizal is in his 30s and still freaking fit. and even his body needs a longer recovery time..

i will confess to being extremely careful whenever i play, in the sense that i always look after my body (i mean, after all those injuries, i'd be crazy not to be careful)..

i look at people like, say, wenloong and ryan, and although they may not be too worried themselves, i wonder if they'll still be as strong and tough as they are now when they become old..the way they throw their bodies around without giving a hoot, sometimes it's unreal.

and for that, i have huge respect for them.

but the fact remains that there is only a certain amount of beating our bodies can take.

yes, right now we're young and tough, nothing will keep us down and prevent us from playing unless we suffer some serious injuries like breaking bones or tearing ligaments/tendons/muscles or wadeva, u get the idea.

but come fifty years down the road, will we still be walking strong or will we be wheel around in a wheelchair because of the many little injuries we sustain now??

ok i am talking a whole lot of bullshit..
but that was just some food for thought.
