Project Superstar

ok just watched the results show of project superstar, so i thought i wanted to say something.

ok weilian (the blind guy) won for the male category. i don't know if it exactly is a good thing or bad thing for him. ok fine of course it is a good thing, i mean like he got into the main finals at the indoor stadium what the hell am i talking about.

but the fact that he won will definitely incur a backlash on him. i mean like, ok after the results were announced he has already incurred the wrath of yan an and my sister. this reminds me of the singapore idol final when Sly got through la.

cut some slack on this guy man. i mean like, it's not his fault that people vote for him right?? (ps. i am not one of the people who pity him, i thought he shoudn't have gone through, i just feel that there is no need for this big uproar and hatred toward him) it's not his fault that people are soft-hearted and vote for him what.

but i guess yan an summed it up very well - junyang and weilian can sing as well as each other, but the fact is that this is 'project superstar', not 'project singer'. the winner needs to have the 'superstar' quality that sets them off and makes them different. sad to say, weilian does not have that quality, and this is actually due to the fact that he is blind (no offence meant). i mean like, yes it is touching to see that he tries to move around the stage, but the truth is that he does not appeal visually, nor does he strike as someone who is a 'superstar'. how will he be able perform overseas?

now that makes the difference between the both of them and why junyang shud have won. but well i guess u can never underestimate the power of fans.

ok three scenarios can happen at the final at indoor stadium:

1) weilian screw up and is a total flop and loses out to kelly by a landslide margin (like Sly in idol final).

2) weilian sings damn damn well, proving his critics wrong, and losing 'gloriously' (although i think the time for him to go out 'gloriously' has past).

3) weilian wins (regardless whether he sings badly or very well).

for the better good of himself, the competition, and of course, singapore's reputation, i sincerely hope the 2nd scenario will happen.
