The end of the road...

it's been more than a month since i last wrote anything here.. i didnt want to write anything throughout the course of the season, but yes, we did it..

it's been a long time coming, too long in fact. and i just wanna say that i'm so damned proud of each and every single one of my rugby guys (even those who didnt make it into the 28). the hard work that we put in, the inches that we literally have to crawl through in games, they have finally paid off. we can finally proclaim ourselves to be number 1. the CHAMPIONS.

from losing to UWC a month before season, to having to come from behind in both the semis and final to win, the feeling when the final whistle blew, no words can describe it.

i do feel a tinge of sadness though. 6 years, and it ends. no more days of training under the hot sun with my buddies, and no more days of fighting for the crest on our jerseys. we won the gold, but it was the memories that were forged which i hold dearest, which i'll probably not forget for a long long time to come.

yes, the time has come, but at least it ended in such a beautiful way at bungy's bar on wednesday night. a fairytale ending. an end where we left our names etched in the history of rjc rugby as the champions of 2007.

we walked onto the field as ordinary people, and came off it as legends.

and it sure as hell feels good. (:
