A Walk Down Memory Lane

ok so it's all over, Secondary school life in RI is officially over.

in 2002, when i first came, i was a scared little boy. the only one from my primary sch to enter ri, i was scared, i had no one to talk to, i still remembered how when i talked to anyone it always started with 'excuse me'. sec one orientation was a killer (think Mr Eng), but one that i will remember forever. then one day in class jeremy lee decided to redecorate my sitting area by turning my table and chair upside down, i allowed him to do it, since i had no backup then. the reason? his stupid little fetish for our then science teacher. also not to forget is how mr mag totally screwed our class upside down for playing soccer in class, and obviously we broke something that's why he even knew that we played soccer. oh wells, 'there's a season for everything' i guess. and i still remember my form teacher was phua peck hong and sharon xu, and they remained until sec 2, oh how slack it was.

sec2 nothing pretty much happened. mostly just trainings - or tortures to be exact (actually i had gone thru the torture b4 in sec1). i'd always remember the dinners with seah, ray and choonwing, and how ray would flash a 50 dollar note at me and choonwing to ask us to 'buy more food', even though we already had tonnes on the table. and of course i will never forget how, on that fateful night in seah's car, choonwing actually dated some malaysian girl out for ice-cream, we were palying a prank of course. haha.

come sec3, and a whole bunch of new faces showed up in my class. my class literally became a mini-UN. we had 12 scholars from our class - 1 malaysian, 7 PRCs, 4 Indons. plus lincoln that's like 2 malaysians in my class, add aniruddh in, a person from India. OBS was fun. then the rest of sec3 just pass thru like tat, i still remember how we would all complain bout the RP (we still do) cuz it's koked up. and how our form teachers came and went. Ngoh Shay Piao, Chia Yin Shian, Pohsie, and of course the coolio izzac yee. and then the screwing by jwong for playing paper balls in class -.-"

sec4, i would say that it was the most memorable year (duh). i became closer friends with the people from my class, namely the indons choonwing etc. at the same time, i became so so much more slack, probably the slackest i have been in my 4 years. the only time i really worked was during CT2, and even then i didn't exactly mug my ass off. but lady luck smiled on me, and i still got pretty decent grades. sec 4 was also the year that i discovered just how much i really hated chem, for i didn't learn a shit from sec3 anyway. form teacher was grace chong and jwong, probably the most strict and fierce ones that i have had in the 4 years. sec4 was also the year i started talking a whole lot of bullshit with choonwing, coming out with funny names for our teachers, most significantly Lord Voldermort. haha. and this was also the year, that i celebrated my birthday with friends and with a proper birthday cake for the first time. thanks zhan yuan that meant a lot.

as we sang our batch song in the hall today, it was probably the loudest that we had ever sang the song, i felt the warmth that i felt in sec1, and for a moment tears actually welled up in my eyes. yes, that's how much i will miss ri. as we went to thank our teachers today, it sank in to me that i am finally leaving the place i have called my second home, and i am actually making peace with some of the teachers i hate, lol. as i leave the school, it finally sank in that that was the last time i was ever gonna leave ri, as a student from ri. i can't bear to leave ri actually, with all the fond memories and stuff, but i guess my life has been made easier by the fact that rjc is just next door, so it isn't too bad.

lastly, there are some people i needa thank:
- the ruggers, thanks for the fond memories, i will never ever forget the days we spent together
- my class people, for making sec3 and sec4 so enjoyable
- and the teachers, especially those that taught me in sec4, it would be a lie if i said i will not miss my teachers

ok this is such a long entry, i would wish to go on, but there has to be an end to everything.
it is now time to put my ri life into the core of my brain, etched in my deepest memory, and move on to the next phase in life...
