10 Things

Yesterday was National Day, and because i had so much time to spare this past few days, i actually came up with 10 things that make Singapore so, er, Singapore.

1. Complaints
I mean, which Singaporean can go 3 days without complaining?

2. HDB flats
Wherever you go, these things are left, right, center, everywhere! and they actually look good.

3. Ah bengs/ Ah lians
We are probably the only country to give the 'cheena' versions of punks names. no offence meant though.

4. Kiasu-ism
Mention that something is free and a long queue immediately forms up, and the funny thing is, some people do not even know what they are queueing for!

5. Fine City
Fine as in both meanings of the word 'fine'.

6. Stress
Probably other than a young kid, every one feels stressed by something - even when you're old with grey hair all over, you stress about whether you're gonna have a roof over your head!

7. Punctuality
Ok i don't think i needa talk too much about this.

8. We like to give brand names
There is no 'Hong Kong Mee' in Hong Kong and similarly, there is no 'Hainanese Chicken Rice' in Hainan.

9. Homework
This is the thing that never fails to keep our students occupied during the long holidays. and it seems never ending.

10. Food
Char Kway Teow, Chilli Crab, Chicken Rice, Curry Fishhead. Need i say more?

ok i know that's quite dumb/lame but i'm quite bored la. ran out of games to play. these few days have been spent at home resting and doing work. i think i have cleared my work but then again, everytime i feel the same way until i go back to school when i realise i have a lot of stuff not done. oh wells.
